I had bought the Blu-ray for Dredd sometime last year, and finally in the winter, I watched it with my wife, and it was awesome. If you are thinking Stallone, don't. This is not the movie Judge Dredd, but the 2012 edition with Karl Urban. Anyway, one of the awesome things in this movie is its soundtrack. As usual, nowadays I check Spotify for the tracks -- luckily (or perhaps unluckily?) the Dredd soundtrack was listed. I played the soundtrack dozens of times during gaming sessions, at work and at parties, as it is the type of music I often enjoy. It works as background music, of course, but is also very good music for coding, as there are no lyrics to distrack me.
Couple of days ago, the tracks disappeared from Spotify. This is annoying, but usually not a big deal, as the CD can then be purchased or the tracks bought from iTunes. In this case, however, the CD seemed to also be gone from this Earth, with only two copies left at a merchant selling thourgh Amazon.com. I searched quite a while to come to the conclusion that really, if I wanted the CD, I'd need to buy it from there. Finnish internet stores didn't carry the CD, I guess the awesome of the movie has escaped some people.
I understand Spotify does not want to advertize that some (most?) of their tracks are on borrowed time. But maybe some advance warning if you've listened to the track, say, 10 times? Also, why did the tracks go? Looks like there is currently no-one selling the tracks, outside Amazon.com digital, but I can't buy from there, as I don't live in the US... It seems as though the merchants were actively trying to get me into piracy.
